Pluot

Pluots are a hybrid cross of plum and apricot that first came to market in the late 1980s. Roughly 70% plum and 30% apricot, pluots look like plums, but have a much higher sugar content. After multiple generations of cross breeding, there are now upwards of 40 varieties of pluots, varying in size, flavor, skin and flesh color.
The Dapple Dandy Pluot is large with mottled red to purplish skin with yellow speckles and juicy pinkish red flesh. It is exceptionally sweet with hints of berry and melon.
